Future Cities Vienna

The first Future Cities Report for Vienna deals with the development of urban quarters in a city where centrally located spatial reserves have largely been consumed. The concept of urban quarters is examined and the characteristics of successful quarter development are derived from examples. A well-balanced mix of uses is probably the most important factor, but accessibility and mobility within the quarter, sustainability and cooperative planning processes also play a decisive role.
The report highlights two inner-city quarters that are currently under construction:
